A symposium was held jointly by the Punjab Judicial Academy and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan on “Role and Jurisdiction of Courts Under Laws Governing Corporate Sector”. Its venue was Kohinoor Hall, Pearl Continental Hotel, Shahrah-e-Azam, Lahore.
This symposium was attended by the Hon’able Judges of Lahore High Court, Lahore and all the judges of three Districts i.e, Lahore, Shekhupura, and Kasur. Justice (R) Tanvir Ahmed Khan, Director General, Punjab Judicial Academy made the Inaugural Speech and the Justice (R) Khalil Ur Rehman Khan spoke about Islamic Financing with particular reference to Takaful.
Speeches were made by Mr. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Hon’ble Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore, Mr. Afzal Mufti, Senior Partner Cornelius, Lane & Mufti, Mr. Qaiser Javed Main, Director Research, Punjab Judicial Academy and Mr. Muhammad Ali, Chairman of SECP. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Lahore. It was attended by almost 350 members of Judiciary. The speeches were highly professional and informative. At the end dinner was served.
