Concluding Ceremony of One week workshop on “Procedural Competency” (Batch-IV)

Concluding ceremony of One week workshop on “Procedural Competency” of Civil judges Cum Judicial Magistrates of various districts of Punjab (Batch IV) and one-week capacity building training course for Prosecuting officers / Investigator in the matters relating to Narcotics Cases held at the Punjab Judicial Academy held on 9th March, 2013 separately.

In concluding ceremony of civil judges, Chief Guest, Senior judge of the Lahore High Court, Lahore Justice Najamul Hassan has advised the judges to only have fear of Almighty Allah in their mind and not someone else’s while deciding cases. He said the participants that they were not ordinary servants. Their job was an objective and it should be achieved completely and carefully. He said that judgments rendered by the district judiciary were very important so they should do their duty with utmost care. He also appreciated the cooperation of the advocates due to which many districts have achieved zero pendency of old cases i.e. filed before 2008, while other districts have also reduced the number of pending cases to a great extent.

In the welcome address, the Director General of Punjab Judicial Academy, Justice (R) Tanvir Ahmed Khan said, that judiciary has to perform its due part by offering affordable and rapid rights at the front door of the public for the treatment of uncertainty and doubts.

A representative of participants appreciated the LHC Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial for launching such a beneficial course and hope for its continuity.

In concluding ceremony of one-week capacity building training course for Prosecuting officers / Investigator in the matters relating to narcotics cases, the Director General of Punjab Judicial Academy, Justice (R) Tanvir Ahmed Khan said that the rule and order situation in the country is not good.  Everyone should obey the instructions given in Holy Quran. Police should investigate the case according to the merit and brings real facts and figures in their reports. He condemns Badami Bagh incident recently occurred in the Lahore.
