Capacity Building Training Course for District & Sessions Judges from Punjab

A crash course was developed for enhancing the professional capacity and capability of District & Sessions Judges from various districts of Punjab. The purpose of this training was to make the trainees aware that emphasis on disposal of cases does not mean that the files should be buried, rather, the cases must be decided on merits. Certificate/award giving ceremony took place on 30.12.2011 in the auditorium of Punjab Judicial Academy. The function was presided over by Mr. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Lahore. In his speech the Chief Justice stated that the real stake holders of judiciary are neither lawyers not the judges, but, the real stake holders are the litigants who spend a lot of money on litigation. Therefore, in the interest of litigants the cases should not only be disposed of quickly but the decisions must be made on merits.
