A reception was held in honour of the LHC Chief Justice, Khawaja Muhammad Sharif at the Punjab Judicail Academy. While addressing the ceremony Justice Sharif said that miseries of the people hit by poverty, price hikes and unemployment will reduce if they get justice from courts of law. He added, “Actually, justice is a solution to all the problems and judges must do their job honestly and without accepting any pressure. The judge, who is not punctual and honest to his/her job can never be called a good judge.”
The Chief Justice, who is attaining the age of superannuation on December 8, advised the judges to ensure provision of speedy justice to the masses. “Look I always started my work on time and I will advise you to do the same,” he said.
The outgoing Chief Justice enhanced the training period of civil judges at the PJA from 12 weeks to 14 weeks so as to improve the quality of training being imparted to judicial officers.
PJA Director General, Justice (R) Tanvir Ahmed Khan paid a tribute to the Chief Justice and presented him with a souvenir.
