Concluding ceremony of One week workshop on “Procedural Competency” of Civil Judges Cum Judicial Magistrates of various districts of Punjab (Batch VIII) held on 6th April, 2013 at the Punjab Judicial Academy Auditorium. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Hon’able Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore and he also gave away certificates to civil judges.
During his speech he said that the judges to promote their reading habits and have hands on Information Technology for improving the quality and quantity of judgments. He pointed out that 98% litigation of the country is in the Province of Punjab. The case ratio per judge in the Punjab is very high as compared to other provinces. We need 60 to 70% new judges to cope with the situation.
Justice Mansoor appreciated the role of Punjab Judicial Academy and vowed it to raise its status to a university where faculty members from the leading universities like LUMS will be engaged to deliver lectures for the proper guidance and training of judicial officers. Functioning of judiciary owes to the litigant public.
In the welcome address, Director General Punjab Judicial Academy, Mr. Justice (R) Syed Jamshed Ali emphasizes on time management during court timings.
Registrar Sardar Ahmad Naeem and officers of LHC also attended the ceremony.
