Concluding ceremony of 53rd Four-Weeks Pre-Service Training Course for Newly Appointed Civil Judges-Cum- Magistrates was held on Wednesday 28th March, 2014 at the Auditorium of Punjab Judicial Academy. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Hon’ble Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore, Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Hon’ble Judge, Lahore High Court, Lahore, and Mr. Sohail Nasir, Hon’ble Director General Punjab Judicial Academy.Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, has said that duty of Judges is to serve the nation through their judgments. Balanced judgments check cruelty and barbarism as a good decision can create peace and harmony in region and blocks bloodshed. It was his obligation to provide an environment of tranquility and peace for safeguarding the litigant public, advocates community as well as judicial officers. He added.Mr. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court speaking on the occasion advised the trainee’s judges to have grip on law and English writing by developing a habit of regular reading. He also expressed the resolve to make the Academy a seat of learning by launching more robust, innovative and dynamic programs aimed at improving practical and theoretical legal knowledge.Director General of the Academy, Sohail Nasir said that under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, the Academy has devised a variety of informative and practical programs and the participant judges of current training were lucky in the sense that three judges from Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chief Justice of Baluchistan High Court and a number of Judges of Lahore High Court have shared their knowledge and expertise in the field of law with them.
