On the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore Mr. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, oath taking ceremony for newly appointed judicial officers, nine (9) Additional District & Sessions Judges and twenty six (26) Civil Judges-cum-Magistrates 2024 was held on 27.02.2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Auditorium of the Punjab Judicial Academy, Lahore.
Hon’ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Lahore High Court, Lahore / Chairperson Board of Management, Punjab Judicial Academy graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Sheikh Khalid Bashir, Worthy Registrar, Lahore High Court, Lahore, Mr. Ashtar Abbas, Acting Director General, PJA, Ch. Abdul Rashid Abid, D&SJ (HR-District Judiciary), Mr. Muhammad Tanvir Akbar, D&SJs (DG Judicial & Case Management), Director Academic / Program, PJA, Director Research & Publications, PJA, Additional Director, and Staff Members of PJA also attended the event.
With the permission of the Hon’ble Chief Guest, the ceremony started with the recitation of verses from The Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Imran Mujaddid Rabbani, Instructor IT, PJA. The Worthy Registrar administered oath to the newly appointed Additional District & Sessions Judges and Civil Judges-cum-Magistrates and congratulated the newly appointed judicial officers for becoming part of judicial system.
Thereafter, Mr. Ashtar Abbas, Director General, PJA welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Guest, dignitaries of Lahore High Court, Lahore, the newly appointed Judicial officers and their families and said:
• He congratulated the newly appointed judicial officers and their families. He further said that all of you have been selected after rigorous process of testing on the basis of your qualification and practical experience, you are entering a new phase of life will a heavy responsibility of justice on your shoulder.
• Concluding his welcome address, the Director General, PJA prayed for the newly appointed judicial officers for their future’s endeavor during their service for providing and practicing justice and to contribute in raising the status of Judiciary with honesty, integrity, competence and Judicial wisdom.
Last but not the least, the Hon’ble Chief Justice Mr. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Lahore High Court, Lahore was requested to come to the dais to address the gathering. In his address, the Hon’ble Lordship congratulated the newly appointed Judges and said that this oath establishes special connection between the judges and Allah. Our religion provides guidelines to render justice. You are required to fulfill it to make others to feel your presence and earn good name in this world and reward hereinafter. His Lordship emphasized that it is expected from the judicial officers to gain positive reputation at the initial stage by having fear of Allah in heart and mind while deciding the cases, which will carry with them throughout their careers.
On conclusion of the oath taking ceremony, group photos of newly appointed judges were taken with the Hon’ble Chief Justice along-with administrative staff of the Hon’ble Lahore High Court, Lahore and PJA, Lahore followed by a refreshment.
