The concluding ceremony of “3-Months Pre-Service Training Program – 2023 of Newly Appointed AD&SJs and Civil Judges-cum-Magistrates” was held in the Punjab Judicial Academy on 27th September, 2023 at 02:30 p.m. Chaired by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore / Chairperson, Board of Management, Punjab Judicial Academy and attended by the followings;

The ceremony started with recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by National Anthem. Where after, Mr. Ashtar Abbas, Acting Director General, PJA, welcomed the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Judges, Lahore High Court and other distinguished guests on behalf of the Punjab Judicial Academy and expressed his views about the training program. While addressing, Mr. Ashtar Abbas stated that the trainees were attached with the Academy for 12-weeks w.e.f. 10.07.2023 to 28.09.2023, and during this period, they were tested with respect to their already acquired knowledge and further were given training in different areas of legal acumen. The most learned resource persons were engaged to deliver lectures and impart knowledge, which includes Hon’ble retired Judges of the Superior Courts, retired District & Sessions Judges and learned experts from academia.
The rigorous training was imparted during this 12-weeks for participant’s capacity building which also included attachment with the Courts and Research Centre, Lahore High Court, Lahore for acquiring hands on experience practical knowledge of the prevailing legal system.
After that, Ms. Neelofer, Civil Judge, Sialkot and Ms. Uzma Farnaz, AD&SJ, Narowal, expressed their views as representative of participants Civil Judges-cum-Magistrates & AD&SJs, respectively, about the training program that this training has enabled them to understand the meaning of being a judicial officer in its true spirit.
The entire training program was designed impeccably to make them well acquainted with every segment and to prepare them to serve in field. The training program consisted of lectures, practical assignments, presentations, mock trials and attachment with District / Civil Courts Lahore and Lahore High Court Research Center.
During training they learnt discipline, punctuality, time management and teamwork. The resource persons have familiarized them with their life time experiences and introduced them to the great depth of legal and social knowledge. They further stated that special lectures were arranged for personal grooming which by all means have equipped them with day-to-day public dealing and to cope with the demands of modern society.
Thereafter, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore / Chairperson, Board of Management, Punjab Judicial Academy addressed the participants and impressed upon them regarding performing their sacred duty as judge for dispensation of justice and rerdressal of grievances of litigant public without any fear, except Almighty Allah. Where-after, certificates were awarded to the participants upon the successful completion of training program by the Chair, Acting Director General, PJA and Registrar, Lahore High Court, Lahore and at the end group photo was taken.
