he Judges of the Superior Courts of Pakistan, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jawad Hassan, Judge Lahore High Court, Lahore, attended the Conferences on:
(i) The Role of judiciary in promoting investor confidence through ADR in Pakistan, organized by Chartered Institution of Arbitrators Pakistan Branch at Hon’ble Society of Gray’s Inn., London.
(iii) Annual Law Conference by International Lawyers Association at Lincoln’s Inn., London.
(iv) Pakistan as Emergent Market for International Arbitration after Development of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The Hon’ble Judges of the Superior Courts of Pakistan spoke at these conferences and seminars, held at the prestigious institutions like King’s College, London and Lincoln’s Inn. and addressed the Hon’ble Society of Barristers & Solicitors. While giving talks on the occasions, the Hon’ble Lordships highlighted the importance of ADR and need to develop effective and efficient legal system in Pakistan.
It is pertinent to highlight here that all the three Hon’ble Judges, belonging to the Superior Courts of Pakistan are from the Punjab Superior Judiciary. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, before being elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he remained the Hon’ble Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Lahore / Chairperson, Board of Management of the Punjab Judicial Academy, Lahore. The Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahid Jamil Khan also Judge of the Lahore High Court, Lahore is Member of Board of Management of the Punjab Judicial Academy and the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jawad Hassan is Judge of the Lahore High Court, Lahore.
The Punjab Judicial Academy, Lahore is primarily an institution that imparts training to the district judicial officers across the province and ADR is an important feature of its training programs. See Photos.
