With the approval of Hon’ble Chief Justice Lahore High Court/Chairperson Punjab Judicial Academy, the Academy organized One-Week Training Workshop for District Commercial and Overseas Court Judges w.e.f 7th to 12th September 2019, in collaboration with the Planning & Development Board & the World Bank Group.
The objective of this Program was to equip the judges with relevant laws and precedents relating to commercial and overseas courts; to discuss issues & challenges while deciding cases to provide speedy justice to overseas Pakistanis and to delay reduction.
On the eve of the Inaugural Ceremony (7th September 2020), the Director General welcomed the distinguished guests with the confidence that that the training will be helpful for the participants. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan, Chief Justice Lahore High Court graced the event as Chief Guest. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jawad Hassan also shared his views and vision for the purpose of the program. Other distinguished guests were Representative from World Bank Group, Secretary Board of Investment, Govt. of Pakistan and Chairman P&D Board Govt. of Punjab, who shared their knowledge and views with the participants.
Concluding Ceremony
Concluding Ceremony of the workshop was organized on 11th September 2020 in the Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore. Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan enlighten the ceremony as Chief Guests along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Hon’ble Chief Justice Lahore High Court & Hon’ble Judges LHC. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jawad Hassan, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahid Karim & Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahid Waheed shared their views and knowledge with the participants.
Ho’ble Mr. Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan, Chief Justice LHC impressed upon the participants that for economic growth and sustainability, it is imperative that the cases involving economic activities must be decided speedily which in term will help in economic stability of the country and built confidence in the investors coming from abroad.
Hon’ble Chief Guest (Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Chief Justice of Pakistan) bestowed the guests and participants with his fruitful address.
The Ceremony was followed by awarding of certificates and souvenirs.
