The Punjab Judicial Academy has conducted pre-Service Training for newly appointed Additional District & Sessions Judges, for three months w.e.f 27th April, 2020 to 25th July, 2020.
INAUGURAL SESSION
On the eve of inaugural ceremony Hon’ble Mr.Justice Shahram Sarwar Ch. Judge Lahore High Court Lahore graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Director General PJA welcomed the Hon’ble guest and participants of the Course and briefly explained about the purpose of the program.
The Hon’ble Chief guest showed his pleasure on the appointment of new AD&SJJ. His lordship emphasized the participants to follow the constitution & law and to deliver prompt Justice.
TRAINING SESSION
During the 12-week training program, Hon’ble Judges of Lahore High Court Lahore, renowned scholars and experts shared their knowledge and views with the participants. The participants were also provided an opportunity to visit the Hon’ble Lahore High Court Lahore and field attachments in District Courts Lahore, to have a grasp on working of Courts. One week comprehensive training for the participants was arranged at the Federal Judicial Academy Islamabad on “Exploring Concepts in Trail Procedures”. Visit to king Edward Medical University and Punjab Forensic Science Agency was also arranged, where the participants were provided the chance to directly view postmortem and technology to examine physical evidence from an object. A visit to Mental Health Hospital Lahore was also set out for under training Judges.
During the whole training program lectures on different topics specifically case and Stress Management, Code of Conduct, Conducting of Trial, Cyber Law, IP law, Environmental Law, Appeal Revision & Review and Research Methodology was organized for trainees. Mock trial was also planned for them and the participants were enriched.
CONCLUDING CEREMONY
On the successful completion of 3-months training program, concluding ceremony was held on 25th July, 2020. The Registrar Lahore High Court Lahore grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
The Director General PJA expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble chief guest and applauded the participants on their success. The Hon’ble chief guest addressed the participants and shared his profound views about the role of Judges in providing justice to the litigants and peace in the society. He impressed upon the participants to decide cases impartially to provide speedy justice, in accordance with law and for mercy to the litigant.
At the end, certificates were distributed amongst the participants and souvenir was presented to the Hon’ble Chief Guest.
