General Training Program (GTP) 2019-20 has commenced in the Punjab Judicial Academy. The Inaugural Ceremony of the first GTP was organized on 2ndSeptember 2019 and Hon’ble Chief Justice Lahore High Court Lahore graced the occasion as CHIEF GUEST. The participants of Group-I (AD&SJJ/ Batch-I and Civil Judges Batch-I & II) who had opted for said program and nominated for the training from 2nd to 7th September 2019, attended the ceremony.
The purpose of the GTP (2019-20) designed to train ‘Every Judge Every Year’ is to equip the judges with communication skills for improving court-room environment and to enhance critical thinking & writing skills for effective decision making. This program is for all the AD&SJJ & Civil Judges in Punjab, about 1500 in number and it will continue till June 2020.
Mr. Abdul Sattar, Director General Punjab Judicial Academy warmly welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Guest and the participants. In his address, he expressed his feelings of indebtedness to the Hon’ble Chief Guest for sparing his precious moments for inauguration of the Program. He also showed his confidence that this training would certainly enhance the skills of judges in efficiently performing the court work with the required attitude and passion for this sacred job.
Hon’ble CHIEF GUEST addressed the participants and hoped that the participants will learn more skills from the GTP. His Lordship, also impressed upon the participants to decide cases in fear of Allah and quoted that ‘‘there is a big reward from Allah in Jannah for doing justice and injustice will lead towards last place of Hell.
After inaugural ceremony, the training sessions conducted separately for each batch included research work, emotional intelligence, health & wellbeing, judicial conduct, social & professional etiquettes and critical thinking for decision making.
